Systems Analysis
Capabilities of the current system are
evaluated and compared with mandated/desired capabilities.
Alternative approaches are defined and evaluated in terms of their
impact on technical effectiveness, process efficiency, and total
ownership cost, considering technical schedule, and cost risk.
Total system analysis and simulation experience includes air and ground
transportation systems operating in real-world environments, individual
and multi-flight aircraft operations, launch vehicles, missiles, space
operations, net-centric operations, training systems, performance based
logistics, avionics systems, fault-tolerant systems, software, and human
interaction with these types of systems.
Key Benefits
-
Cost drivers are identified for the
current system and used to determine if process changes can reduce
future operating and support costs
-
Modeling and simulation provide
consistent processes for evaluation of the current system and
alternatives' capability, identification of deficiencies of the
current system, and selection of viable alternatives
-
Systems analysis identifies the best
technical alternative, acquisition and support strategies, and costs
of implementing the preferred alternative consistent with financial
constraints
Capabilities
Capabilities assessment expertise includes
modeling and simulation of the complete system to determine whether the
current system and its operating procedures can satisfy future mandated
capabilities in terms of performance, availability, and logistics
support mandates. Alternatives are identified to overcome
deficiencies of the current system and evaluated to select the preferred
alternative that provides the required capability and future capability
growth at the lowest total ownership cost. The analysis of
alternatives includes an assessment of risk (technical, schedule, and
cost), system safety, and investment and operating costs.
Aircraft Total Ownership Cost Baselines and Trends
Our database of aircraft maintenance and
supply data provides the capability to develop a baseline of current
aircraft systems and forecast from historical data trends in
availability and total ownership cost. We can drill down to
specific systems such as avionics and engines, and then drill to
lower layers until reaching the circuit card level.
Avionics
We model and simulate the flight of
aircraft operating in air traffic in specific areas of the world
using geospatial, aircraft, installed avionics, and candidate
systems databases. This provide an evaluation of the aircraft,
avionics, support systems, and air traffic management system
operational impact on aircraft capability (performance,
availability) and total ownership cost.
Analysis of Alternatives
Our experience ranges from analysis of
all aspects of the life cycle management of a complete weapon system
and its support systems to the life cycle management of a single
circuit card.
